It is funny how we use words everyday and not always think of their true meanings. I think about the important people in my life and the friendships I have made over the years. I have even thought, at times, of my comrades who have helped me over the years. Most people would look at this and think I am repeating myself when I talk about my friendships and comrades. The fact is, comradeships and friendships are completely two different concepts that should not be confused as meaning the same thing. In political and social settings, you would be amazed to see how different comradeships and friendships truly are.

How are you doing, comrade? You might think of Soviets and Communists when you hear the word comrade, but you are mistaken. Comradeship is a very vital relationship, different in many respects from friendship. An important relationship that is akin to companionship and brotherhood but is really something all of its own. Not a mere acquaintance, not a best friend forever, but something uniquely its own.
