Womens cinema can be described as cinema made by women. While the categorization commonly refers to female directors and cinematographers, women are present in every aspect of filmmaking including positions both in front of the camera and behind it. Female directors make up a very small percentage of current film directors, however the population is growing and more and more women are making important films every year.
