A suffragette is a women's advocate for female suffrage. The title of a suffragette was given to the members of the women’s suffrage movement. This movement originated in the United Kingdom. It became controversial to use such a name to describe this and women became more successful and more productive during this time. More women were given the chance to prove that they could work just as men could and also that they had just as much of a right to vote as men did.
