The major organized religions of today - Judaism, Islam and Christianity - have a male Deity and therefore men are considered more "divine" than women. This viewpoint might have been a backlash from the ancient religions that worshipped a Goddess and could not understand the mystery of female fertility. As many religions teach, things come and go in cycles. While women are blatantly treated as inferiors in Christianity, Judaism and Islam, the rise of feminism in the 1960's reopened the look into the ancient Goddess and pagan religions. Feminism and religion can go together, but only if men can accept this.
