What is eco-feminism? It is indeed a feminist environmental philosophy that is involved in drawing parallels between the oppression of women and the oppression of nature by the patriarchal society. It also advocates the spiritual and political liberation of both. Again, unlike the conventional Western philosophy, eco-feminism is found to deny ethical essentialism, the core belief that the concepts are defined by a set of necessary and sufficient conditions. It is true, that the notion of eco-feminism can only give necessary conditions; the sufficient conditions are historically situated.
