Even if you are not familiar with hand palmistry, you may have heard about the life line of your hand. Well there are many other lines besides the life line in hand palmistry. There is the head line, the heart line, the health line, the fate line, the fame line and so on. All together, there are twelve major lines on the palm, but I am only going to cover the most sought after ones, for further information on palmistry there are numerous books and web sites available.
The first line on the list is the life line. Your lifeline represents your vitality and of course how long your life will be. The life line is considered to be the most important line on your hand and it is always visible. This line begins (looking at your left hand) and the edge of the palm between the index finger and the thumb, it reaches around the middle of the palm and to the base of the wrist. Generally if your life line swoops down to an inch above your wrist you have a life expectancy of 65-70 years.
Next is the head line, it begins just above the life line and deals with your beliefs, philosophy and your own unique way of approaching life. The heart line spans across your hand, if your head line and life line are joined together at the beginning, it means that you have a strong mind that rules over your body, if it is a strong line etched deep in your body, then you have a direct and logical approach to life. It is said - the straighter the life line, the more realistic your thinking tends to be. People with wavy lines tend to have a short attention span and a lack of deep thinking, but this does not affect your intelligence level. A doughnut or cross on your head line indicates a mental crisis.
The fate line is important because many people seek to know their future. It is also called the line of destiny, beginning at the middle of your palm, it runs towards the base of your middle finger, you may have to squish your hand together to see this line. Special marking on this line indicate major event that have occurred, or will occur in your life. If it has many breaks or changes in direction it means you are prone to changes in your life that you cannot control. You can divide this line into three parts to determine when these events will happen, the first is youth, the second adult, and the third is old age. If the fate line joins the life line, you are a self made individual, usually these people are able to discern their aspirations early on in life.
Furthermore, who doesn't want to be famous? The fame line starts at the base of the hand and runs towards the ring finger. It is a reinforcement of the line of destiny mentioned above. A strong line indicates distinction and satisfaction with your life's work. If the line is broken, it is a sign of the up' and downs of your social life. If it travels to the ring finger then it is hinting at fame in the arts. If it splits at the end you may find the success to be dubious. However, if you're fate line ends in a star or triangle then spectacular fame awaits you in the genre of fine arts.
