What game gives wannabe actors, artists and wordsmiths to excel? Cranium!
A game for adults and teens, Cranium allows four or more players to use all of their skills to successfully complete one after another activity in categories that stress a wide variety of skills. The team with the best balance of skills usually wins. The Cranium game allows players to work together and really showcase their best natural abilities. It is a game that tries to celebrate the whole brain and stresses a balance between both sides of your mind.
There are fourteen talent activities divided into four categories - Star Performer, Creative Cat, Data Head and World. Tasks from each of these four piles must be completed to advance on the Cranium board. You may have to hum a tune, sculpt an object using the supplied Cranium Clay, spell a word backwards or answer a multiple-choice question.
To win the game, a team must make it all around the board and make it to the large purple brain in the center (called Cranium Central) and then complete one activity from each of the decks. The average playing time per Cranium game is one hour.
Because it is a very social game, family and friends really interact with each other in new and exciting situations. It is good for a group game night or to chase away the boredom during long family get-togethers. You'll see a side of your friends and family that you never imagined possible. It makes for a great night of fun, but it also puts your brain to work. It will also provide hilarious memories for years to come.
The Cranium Game set comes with player pieces, 800 Cranium game cards, a timer, Cranium lemon-scented clay, pads, pencils, ten-sided die and the rules. The Cranium Board - which was designed by illustrator Gary Baseman - is attractive and colorful. The boxes keep the cards tidy and the Cranium board game should serve your family for years and years.
You can purchase a Cranium Booster Box which adds an additional 800 cards to your original set. You can replace or mix in these cards and then get ready for many, many hours of Cranium craziness. The company promises that these cards are even more challenging and hilarious than the original. You do need the original version of the Cranium game to use the Booster Box.
The Cranium board game won the Toy Industry Association's Game of the Year in the year 2002 and there have been more than 1.3 million copies of the game sold so far. There are even online communities set up to help connect Craniacs.
There are U.S., and Canadian (English and French) Cranium Game editions and coming soon is a Latin American version. Cranium Inc. also produces other games for a variety of age groups including: Cariboo, Hullabaloo, Conga, Hoopla, Balloon Lagoon and Zigity. Cranium has also expanded to the published field, announcing in March 2005 plans to publish a line of children's books through Little, Brown books for Young Readers that incorporate the Cranium Concept.
A mix of many other much beloved board games, Cranium offers something to satisfy everyone.
