Protect Your Computer Against Backdoor Threat

Added: 10/15/2007

Hackers are out there, and we all know (from watching movies) that they can do pretty much whatever they want with a computer. This includes gaining a backdoor into your system and taking control over the whole thing. The best way to protect yourself against backdoor threat , is to keep your anti virus protection software up to date and ready to go. The sad thing is, that most hackers make backdoors to your system just to mess with you and play pranks. Protecting your privacy should be your number one concern.

Protecting your computer against backdoor threat could be hard. Even if you keep your computer up to date, sometimes hackers can still get in. Having a backdoor into your computer means that they are using a remote access tool to gain access to your computer. When trying to protect yourself against backdoor threat, you should know that a backdoor program is a standalone file. This file will usually install itself into your system files and remain inactive there until the hacker chooses to access it. The problem is, that most of the time your computer will not even know its there. The backdoor program will trick your computer into thinking that it is one of its installed drives. So why should you protected yourself against backdoor threat? Besides just protecting your privacy, the hacker can do a lot more to your system.

People fight against backdoor threat for many reasons. First of all, when a hacker has this software on your computer, he can actually watch all your system commands. So what does that mean for you? Well what it means is that they can find out all your passwords to all the sites you use. This is because they can watch the keyboard commands on the computer and then use it to login to your accounts. The good news is, that not all hackers are out to steal your information. The bad new is, if they are not out to steal your information, then they are out to mess with your head. This is the second reason why you should protect against backdoor threat. See not all hackers are out to cause harm, some want to have fun. If you do not protect against backdoor threat, they can do whatever they want with your system. Any information you have stored on your computer they can see and take. This includes any pictures that you have, so you better hope you do not have anything there that you do not want people to see. One of the most famous ways that the hackers mess with you is through your CD Rom tray. After they are on your computer, they can open and close your CD tray whenever they want to from their computer. One man said that this happen to him and the hacker played with the CD tray for hours. The hacker never did other things to his computer, but it was very annoying to have the CD tray opening and closing all the time. One day, the hacker finally stopped and the man never had a problem with it again. Of course, how do we know that we will be that lucky? So like I said, the best thing to do is protect yourself against backdoor threat.

Their have been a number of different backdoor programs that have come up over the years. A few that you should look out for are SubSeven, NetBus, Deep Throat, and Master's Paradise. These are a few of the ones to watch out for that can slip past your defense against backdoor threat. Just keep your virus protection up to date and watch out for drivers that are installed to your computer that you are not aware of. If you follow just a few of these tips you should not have a problem against backdoor threat. Your computer is a place to have fun, not worry about people messing with you.
