Popup blockers are something that we all need to have when we get online. When you surf the internet now-a-days, you are bound to run into some type of advertisement. This could be many different things from banners, videos, and even audio. Of course, most of you would agree that one of the worst forms of advertising would be popup ads. There are many reasons why popup ads make us mad, but for the most part I think everyone hates how it slows down your internet browser. Popup blockers can bring the fun back to using the internet, because they stop these annoying ads. Of course, some of us do not have any popup blockers and that puts us at risk. Some web sites get so overrun with popup ads that you can never even get to the site. If fact, when you up a web site you could have tons and tons of popup ads rushing to open on your computer, as you can probably guess, this is bad. In fact, if you do not find a way to stop them (or if your computer is very old) it can actually make your operating system crash and then you would have to restart your computer. Sometimes the popup ads will make your internet browser freeze and then you have to use your task manager to shut it down. The bad thing about that it will shut down all your internet browsers, so if you had something that you wanted to look at on another page, it will shut that down as well. This can be something that gets very old, very fast.

Popup blockers for the most part are easy to come by. Most tool bars that you add onto your internet browser may even have some popup blockers on it. One of these types of popup blockers is the one you get from the yahoo tool bar. After you download your yahoo tool bar, you will have a free popup blocker on it as well. Of course, popup blockers tend to get on peoples bad side as well. This is because it will block every window that tries to open from the internet. So if you go to download something, the popup blocker stops it. Then you have to go to the popup blockers and tell it to allow this popup. After that, you have to restart your download. As you can see it seems like a lot to go through just to download something. No matter how you look at it, popup blockers are a good thing. The good stuff they do, really out does the bad things. This does not mean that everyone agrees with me. Many people would much rather battle the popup ads, then to battle their own popup blocker. Some people do not want to add something to their computer that they are going to have to fight with. It is really your call on which battle you would rather fight.

Some anti virus software programs also have popup blockers on them. Of course, I do not suggest that you go out and by an anti virus system, just for a popup blocker. There are way to many free popup blockers out there for you to use. However, if you have a anti virus software program that already has this feature, then you could safe yourself the job of going out and looking for one. Popup blockers really are a good thing, and with the way the internet is today, I think that we should all have one. It could really improve your time on the internet.
