To play the white stuff game I'm talking about, you'll first need to fill several zip-lock bags with the following ingredients. flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, powdered sugar, cornstarch, cream of tartar, powdered milk, unflavored gelatin, Bisquick. I'm sure you just noticed that all these ingredients are white. Hence the name the White Stuff. Now number each bag and make a list of each bag. Don't be confused: don't mix all these ingredients together. Put each one in its own bag. You - as the "game director" will have the master list that relates each number to the white stuff specific to each bag.
Now, go around the room or circle of guests and each one gets to feel the contents of the white stuff in each bag and guess what is in each one! Hey, not all of the white stuff feels the same. Just because it's all white doesn't mean it will feel the same! And obviously the person that guesses the most right answers will win a prize!
The more people you have on hand the more fun it is! Now I'm not sure why this game was relegated just to newlyweds, personally the white stuff is a heck of a lot more fun when you're playing with a room full of little kids, namely because children just can't seem to refrain from throwing the white stuff at each other. Don't believe me? Give it a try. I dare you to count to ten. See how long it takes before one of the kids sticks his hand in a bag of white stuff and flicks a little of it at his friend. And then he or she will innocently do it back at the person who started. If you're going to play white stuff then this is the risk you take! Pretty soon you'll be wondering why on earth you decided to play this game with children!
There are variations of the White Stuff game. There's the hard stuff, the wet stuff, the smelly stuff, a whole bunch of variations that may or not include being blindfolded by wearing a handkerchief over your eyes so you can't see.
For example, don't play white stuff, play "smelly stuff" instead. Get a bout 20 items -- different spices and things and blindfold each contestant and see how good they are at guessing the ingredients! Remember to keep score so you can see who the winner is!
Or instead of playing the White Stuff game. Play the "baby food stuff" game. Again, wearing a blindfold, each guest needs to taste and try to identify a selection of 15 or 20 different jars of baby food! Not as easy as it seems because most baby food is all-natural and doesn't contain the spices and things that help create a specific "taste".
My personal favorite? A toss up between the white stuff and a similar game called the Wet Stuff! You need to get about 15 to 20 items that are wet! Water, an egg yolk, oil, syrup, you get the idea! Again, when you're wearing a blindfold it's not as easy at it seems! Each guest can - at most - rub the wet stuff between their fingers. They can't smell it or taste it! That would be cheating!
So there you go, low speed games for the happy newly wed! If you ask me, you should play these games only as long as groom and his friends are home. Once they leave, then let the real party begin! Bring out the lap dancers!
