Planning Themed Kid's Birthday Parties

Added: 06/27/2007

For adults, turning a year older is not something to look forward to. For kids, however, birthdays are an opportunities to be showered with attention and gifts. With a little bit of creativity and some planning, kid's birthday parties can be lots of fun. If you are struggling with party planning, consider going with a theme. Themed kid's birthday parties add a special element that helps to make the event both exciting and memorable.

Having a birthday and turning a year older is an exciting time in a child’s life. They anticipate lots of attention, gifts, and probably a party with some of their friends. So what can a parent do to make a child’s birthday party special? What about considering themed kid’s birthday parties?

Is the birthday boy or girl an animal lover? Dog themed kid's birthday parties are very popular right now. Party stores and Internet sites have all the necessary supplies to hold a successful dog party. Shop around for dog themed invitations, plates, cups, forks, napkins, placemats and balloons. Check with your local grocery stores to see if they could custom make a cake with a picture of a dog on it. If feeling creative, one could even try to bake a cake and then shape it like a bone or the head of a dog! Don’t forget the little guests that will be coming to the party. One can purchase favor boxes in the shape of a dog house that can be filled with candies and treats for the guests. Need something to keep all those munchkins busy? How about playing Red Rover or pin the tail on the dog? Dog themed kid's birthday parties are sure to please even the pickiest of children.

Is the special birthday child a little girl? Consider tea party themed kid's birthday parties. What little girl wouldn’t love playing dress up? Have the little girls paint their fingernails and toenails. Take time to put on makeup and put pretty ribbons in each other’s hair. Don boas and other fun outfits. This is all in preparation for the tea party to come. One simply must look her best when entertaining! What does one serve at a tea party? Cake of course. A birthday cake with fancy decorations in the birthday’s girl’s favorite colors is sure to be a hit. After having tea and cake guests can make bead bracelets or other bead jewelry to take home as a reminder of the fun filled day they just experienced.

Perhaps the birthday boy or girl would like to have an island getaway. Tropical themed kid’s birthday parties are yet another way to go. Companies such as Oriental Trading Company have just about everything one would need to recreate a tropical paradise. Guests can wear hula skirts and sip soda out of coconut cups all while relaxing under the shade of a palm tree. For fun, consider having a hula contest, a limbo contest, or take a few swings at an island themed piņata.

If a themed party is not what one is looking for, consider having kid's birthday parties at fun destinations. Restaurants such as Mc Donalds and Chuck E Cheese can organize a birthday party for that special boy or girl. Restaurants such as these provide activities to keep the kids busy, along will all the food and drink one would need. Theme parks such as Noah’s Ark Water Park in Wisconsin Dells can also plan special events for that birthday boy or girl. Private pavilions and catering are available. Be sure to check in advance to get all the details and information about having parties at theme parks such as this one. Perhaps a day at the local bowling alley or even a day at the park would make for a fun filled birthday celebration. The possibilities are endless. With a little bit of creativity and some preparation any birthday party can be made memorable.
