There are a lot of games which you can play at a wedding shower, including the beloved game of word scramble. Here is a list of different kinds of wedding shower games which you and your guests may enjoy during the special bash which you are throwing on behalf of the lucky bride to be. One common game which will provide a recurring thread throughout your wedding shower party is the game called simply Don't Say. As each guests arrives, give them a safety pin with a small ribbon or charm on it to wear for the duration of the wedding shower party. When you give each guest their pin, explain to them that the words Bride and Wedding are forbidden for the duration of the event. If any guest overhears any other guest using the words Bride or Wedding, the guest who spoke the forbidden words must give their pin to the sharp-eared fellow guest who caught them in the act. At the end of the wedding shower party, the guest who has collected the most pins should win a small prize or gift. The game of Don't Say is a great addition to your roster of games, because it will make all the other games including word scramble, pass the box, a penny for your thoughts, and all the other traditional favorites more fun and more challenging for everybody.
Word scramble is a simple game which goes quickly and can become very lively. It is similar to bingo, but is much more satisfying in a party setting because each round is shorter, keeping play moving and allowing for several winners rather than just one. Word scramble takes a little bit of preparation, but a word scramble game is a great addition to the roster of games and activities at any wedding shower party. Before the wedding shower party, make a list of wedding related words and phrases on a piece of paper. Then, scramble each word and phrase up into anagrams where you rearrange the letters to disguise the familiar words- for example, the phrase "bride and groom" can be scrambled up into the unrecognizable muddle "dogor mire band" among hundreds of other possible combinations of letters. An ideal list for a word scramble game should have about twenty words or phrases for the guests to try to unscramble.
Hand out a copy of the list of scrambled words to your guests, and have them shout out guesses of what each word scramble might be. Try to choose a few words or phrases which will be very difficult for your guests to recognize, and a few easier words or phrases which they will be able to guess almost immediately to get a feel for how to play the game. Word scramble is a great game for guests of all ages and backgrounds, and a word scramble game can really get a wedding shower party going.
Given how easy it is to learn and play word scramble, how inexpensive and fun word scramble is, and how many different kinds of people enjoy playing word scramble, it's no wonder that a word scramble game or variation can be found at so many wedding shower parties across the world!
