The city of St. Augustine is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States. This historic city is a fascinating place to visit. Saint Augustine hotels are many, with something to fit every taste. There is a wide range of things to do in this exciting location.

When planning your vacation, the first thing you will need to do is decide on which one of the Saint Augustine hotels you are going to want to stay in. If you like history, consider the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast. This hotel is located in St. Augustine's historic district, and is actually an 1883 Victorian Home. It has been voted one of the best three Bed and Breakfasts in the state.

Several of the Saint Augustine hotels offer beachfront views, including La Fiesta Ocean Inn and Suites. This hotel offers breakfast delivered right to the room! Edgewater Inn is located on the Matanzas Bay. Perhaps the most spectacular of the Saint Augustine hotels is the Island Cottage Villas by the Sea. Here you have a private villa with an ocean view. Each villa opens to a private beach. The Villas offer a Jacuzzi, fireplace, gardens, pool, and spa. This is a great location to plan a wedding or honeymoon!

One of the most fun of the Saint Augustine hotels is the Pirate Haus Inn and Hostel. This hotel is popular with children because everything in the hotel is pirate themed. The breakfast is all-you-can-eat pirate pancakes!

Once you have picked your hotel, you will need to decide what you are going to see while you are staying in the city of St. Augustine. If you enjoy history, you will want to visit the Oldest House historic landmark. The Gonzalez-Alvarez house is the oldest Spanish Colonial dwelling that is still standing in Florida. The house is from the 1700s. There are two museums, as well as the house, at this location. The Lightner Museum is dedicated to relics from 19th century America. You can explore cut glass art, original art from Louis Comfort Tiffany, and much more from America's Gilded Age. Another historical location is the Fort Matanzas national monument. This fort was built in 1740 when the Spanish owned Florida. Today it can be toured as a reminder of the Spanish presence in Florida.

Families traveling to the city of St. Augustine with children will find plenty to do. Of course, families will enjoy spending time at the beach, and this is certainly possible in St. Augustine. The Family Fun Factory offers an arcade, mini golf, go-carts, paint ball, and the Dixie Twister ride. This is a great place for kids to burn off some of their energy! At the La Fiesta Inn you can enjoy the Fiesta Falls Mini-Golf course, whether or not you are a guest at La Fiesta. Ripley's Believe it Or Not has a museum in St. Augustine. Here you can explore 800 bizarre and unusual artifacts, including Ripley's Ghost Train Adventure. Plan plenty of time to explore Ripley's, as there are many things to look at and read in this museum.

If you enjoy water sports, such as water skiing or Jet Ski, St. Augustine has much to offer. You can rent boats, jet skis, or parasailing equipment. You can enjoy many water sports off the shores of St. Augustine. There is plenty to keep you busy if you vacation in St. Augustine.
