Pccillin Software And Mixed FeelingsPccillin software has also been known as Trend Micro Internet Security, and is currently referred to as Virus Buster in some countries. This software is an antivirus program made by Trend Micro that is suppose to safeguard home computers and networks from viruses. In some tests performed on some of Pccillin software, it did not perform as well as other antivirus programs on the market. This led some to believe that it was not as good as other software programs out, and that may not be true.
The Pccillin software also has a firewall. Of course, the firewall has not undergone a lot of testing. What test that has been done, shows that the firewall protection is pretty good. The problem lots of people are facing is that only versions from 2006 and up are still being updated by Trend Micro. The Pccillin software of 2000 was only a virus scanner with nothing more to it. Later, their versions were stand alone virus scanners that also could detect spy-ware. Trend Micro just now made a stand alone anti-malware in 2007 which is suppose to protect for everything. You do have to buy a different program for Spy-ware protection. On the test that was done, they scored an eighty-seven percent which is the bear minimum to qualify for the AV testing. However, their software now scored a 90.17% which is better, but still below par. New viruses are being created everyday, so you need virus protection that is going to keep being updated and does not just cover the bear minimum.
Trend Micro can make good software. Pccillin software got a bad name in the early part of 2000 because of the tests that were run on them. Whether the tests were good or not, is still up for debate. Now these test results are getting better and Trend Micro should be looked at with a higher respect. Their new software is getting pretty good reviews. Of course, it is not the best software out there. You need to keep that in mind. There are better virus productions out there. If you use the internet a lot, whether it is for email, online matchmaking, or even online gaming, you need to be well protected. There are a lot of sick people out there that will try to send you a virus when you are doing online dating. You never know how you will get one, so it is always good to be on the look out. The goal of antivirus software is to give you a good online experience. If you get a virus when online, it ruins everything you were doing. Also, make sure you back up your system information all the time. Some people do it once a week and others do it later. There are even virus protection systems that will do it for you. It will keep a system restore point, so if you do get a virus, you can restore your computer back to the way it was. If you do have a restore point that does not mean, you cannot lose your information. You still have to be careful. Just keep your virus protection up to date, whether it is Pccillin software or something else. It is better to be safe than sorry.
