The internet has spawned all kinds of new and interesting things from a whole industry of businesses called dot coms to a new way to speak called leet. But when you surf the internet and start using things like chat rooms and message boards there is another new internet twist called netiquette. Netiquette is the unwritten rules of communicating on the internet and it takes a while but once you learn them you appreciate them.

Now-a-days everyone is using the internet to chat with people that they do not get to see all the time, or people they have never meet. However, just because you are online does not mean that you should talk down to people or try and hurt their feelings. This is why we need netiquette. Whether you can see the person or not, you still have to remember that they are real people, and they have to be treated like they are.
