Internet slang is used every day by both people of the internet and people who text message with their cellular phones. People use internet jargon to shorten the amount of characters needed to say a particular thing. When we use internet jargon it is just like when we are talking in real life and use slang sentences. This type of jargon can be many different things, but it is usually represented by abbreviations and/or single letters that when said sounds like a word. Internet jargon sounds confusing, but after you learn the meanings of this slang you will see how much time it saves you when typing messages on the internet.

Many people every year will not buy a computer because of all the complicated computer terms that are associated with computers these days. The fact that also many other people that have a computer are still becoming stuck thanks to these weird computer terms, shows that not enough is being done to help these people. The abundance of internet slang is a prime example of how the internet has affected our culture, going so far as to affect the very way we speak. Some words, like email, that originally started as slang have become so prevalent that they are now considered proper words, and with a generation of people growing up with internet slang in their everyday vocabulary, its not difficult to imagine a time soon when many of the words we currently consider slang are accepted as proper English.
