Most of us have been in chat rooms before and have seen the conversation that seems to be going on between everyone in the room. But there is always someone who will try and change the discussion that is going on by going off topic, this off topic discussion is usually greeted with a lot of abuse by the users in the chat room, they will start to try and offend you by mocking you and you changing the topic. They are usually dealt with by being kicked out of the chat room at a very fast pace.
Off topic discussions do happen all the time, sometimes it can be confusing if you are having what seems like one hundred different conversations going on in the same room. This is why there are special topic chat rooms that people can enter; these rooms are there so that only one topic can be discussed such as sport or TV and fashion. There are a lot more variations available and they are widely used by other chat rooms that have special rooms set up for off topic discussions.
It isn't just chat rooms that have someone that wants to take the discussion off topic. There are forums that have a topic up for discussion then you will notice that someone has posted a reply that is so far offtopic that they should of posted it in the forums off topic section. But no this person has decided that their reply must fit into that section and it does then cause a stir between a lot of people that then start posting questions, asking why they have put that in there and not in the forums off topic thread. It seems that just one person posting an offtopic post can seriously upset a lot of people. I can understand their frustration especially if that reply is totally off topic, but we have to be understanding with some of these people. Some people do it just to see what other people will reply, it seems like they get some sort of kick out of it. But then again the people that do that kind of thing are usually in the age bracket of 11-14 and they do need to get out more.
There are some chat rooms that have a room where they can talk about absolutely anything they like. These chat rooms do get full quickly so you may not be able to get in to the room at all. But you can always find a room that will cater for your interests and then you can enter that room and talk about what interest you. Chat rooms are for people that like all kinds of things, they are not reserved for sex starved freaks and weirdo's because now a days you can enter any type of room and just start talking with the people in that room. Also you won't want to go off topic because there will be no need to, the people in that room will be talking about something that interest you and you can send a clever response.
When you enter a chat room there isn't really any need to go off topic, if you do then you will not be very popular among the other people in that room and you will end up having abuse thrown at you. It may seem harsh at first but when you look back on it you will realize that maybe you shouldn't keep going off topic. Just enter a room and if it does go quiet then you are more then welcome to change the subject.
