When did the number cards and the card games originate in the international spectrum? Well, it is very difficult to ascertain the right period but according to history the presence of several 7th- to 10th-century manuscripts trace the earliest instance of playing cards to the land of China. Again, the earliest authentic references of playing cards in the realm of Europe dates back to the year 1377. However, the first instance of British playing cards relates to the mid 15 th century.

Now, as the card games have been prominent in different ages of the history, there is also the presence of a good number of games in different countries. Is not there any similarity among the games then? Definitely there are! As per the number cards and basic rules of games there is the existence of a similarity. For instance, when a game is played, the players do arrange themselves in a circle around a horizontal surface on which the cards will be played. The players face inwards, and are seated in such a position that none becomes able to see the number cards and also other specific cards of the competitors. There is indeed the essential need of a pack of number cards and a calm place for the best play. The cards should be and do remain identical in shape and size. In each card there are two sides, one being the face and the other back. It is also true that the backs in the pack remain undistinguishable and all the faces may also be unique, depending on the game. However, in both cases any card is identifiable. Again, in a number of cardgames, cards in a pack are grouped in suits. The players shall have to keep it in mind that the dealing is to be done either clockwise or counterclockwise. In this regard it can be said that the number cards and their applications differ from one country to another. In general, it is assumed that the dealing is clockwise for games from North America, North and West Europe and Russia; counterclockwise for South and East Europe and Asia, also for Swiss games and all Tarot games. On the other hand, card games for a solo player are called Solitaire in the U.S and Patience in the U.K. It should be taken into consideration that some of the popular traditional games are Bridge, Canasta, Cribbage, Euchre, Hearts, Pinochle, Pitch, Rummy, Solitaire, Spades and Whist.

However, with the change of time, there has also been the change in the realm of card games also. In the contemporary age, card games can be played by one player, two players, multiplayer and even online! In conjunction with the traditional ones, there has also been the emergence of modern day games, of which the most prominent are the trick taking games, casino or gambling games, solitaire games, shedding games, rummy style games, collectible card games and multi-genre games. Now what is a solitaire game? As is evident from the name solitaire is a single player card game and the well known form of solitaire game is called Klondike. From a shuffled deck the player arranges cards and thereby attempts to reorder the deck by suit and rank. Keep in mind that the solitaire can be played with one or more deck of cards. Why more of deck cards are used? It is due to the fact that the use of more deck of cards increases the rules and skill levels. Again, different types of solitaire games are converted into electronic forms and available as computer games. While again, spade is an accepted multiplayer card game and is often played as a partnership game by four players, with a pack of 52 cards and each player receives 13 cards. But in the recent days with the introduction of the online technology for the excitement more and more people are opting for the online methods leading to the growth of the popularity of online poker to a great extent. Whatever it is, there is no doubt that number cards and card games continue to attract people in general.
