Nightlife NYC: Play In The City That Never Sleeps

Added: 03/31/2007

According to Old Blue Eyes, Frank Sinatra himself, New York City is the city that never sleeps. The nightlife in this grand city can be compared with no other; it has something to offer everyone. Thousands come to the Big Apple each year just to party and have a good time. The rich and poor, young and old, rich and famous all call NYC home. New York City is great for culture, art, and fun, day and night.

For New York, the city that never sleeps, there is nothing that compares to the nightlife. NYC, made famous by Old Blue Eyes himself back in the days when the Rat Pack was running things, is home to some of the most impressive hangouts on the planet. If you want to wake up in the city that never sleeps, be sure to spend the night living it up!

Many thousands of people flock to New York City for the nightlife. NYC is home to many bars, clubs, and restaurants that cater to the visitor’s every whim or desire. Aside from the plays and musicals, there are restaurants that serve cuisine from any country one can think of. There are bars that serve two hundred types of beers on tap. There are beauty salons that double as hopping nightclubs once the sun goes down. Visit the bard made famous by Dorothy Parker and her viscous circle.

The rich and famous love to take a bite out of the Big Apple at night; they flock to the city just for the night to chill out in nightclubs. New York is, and has always been, a major hub for the hottest celebrities especially since it is also home to many movie and television show sets. While the actors work all day, they need to play at night.

Not only is New York City a prime place to party, its charm and appeal extends far beyond its nightlife. NYC is home to many of the world’s greatest museums like the Guggenheim NY, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), and the Met. The city is a grand melting pot of culture, society, and class.

Perhaps being a major cultural stomping ground contributes to the city’s pumping nightlife. NYC also is home to several major universities and colleges such as New York University (NYU), Columbia University, the Julliard School, and Fordham University, not to mention the many trade schools, acting colleges, culinary institutes, and film schools. Perhaps the large population of students and young actors and artists hoping to make their way in the world is a contributing factor to the many nightclubs. New York certainly knows how to party, whether you are young or old.

The glamour the city offers, even to the most down to earth person, is unavoidable. Coming to the city, simply for several days on vacation, can make one feel just like a movie or rock star. Decadent dining, supreme shopping, and the overall energetic vibe of the city make those who come to visit want to party all night long. Just by being in New York City during the day makes the nightlife so appealing. And no matter what one’s taste is, there are plenty of nightclubs. New York does not miss a beat.

After wandering up and down the city streets and avenues, one cannot help but want to extend the feeling into the night. Hit a bar in the Lower East Side or chow down in Little Italy. Spend some time at a swanky lounge in the West Village. After that, head up to midtown and enjoy a glass of wine in a karaoke bar dedicated to Broadway show tunes! Perhaps have a glass of champagne at the Marriott Marquis’ revolving dining room overlooking the entire city. Remember, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
