Underwear is something that needs to be celebrated apparently. This is why Fresh Pair started the National Underwear Day about five years ago. I am not complaining, I am a fan of any holiday where models walk the streets in their underwear. This is an event that has been happening in New York's very own Time Square, and it really is something to see. One reason that this holiday was started, because at one point in time, underwear was told to be unmentionable. Well national Underwear Day is here to prove that the public eye has changed and now people are alright with talking about it (and looking at it). Many designers are promoting National Underwear Day, saying that underwear is something to be proud of. This indeed may be true, because with so many different styles of underwear out there, everyone can wear their own kind. You know something that fits their personality. The press loves this holiday and it is easy to see why, there are so many great things to take pictures of. Of course, this may not be the best “holiday” for the kids, if you know what I mean.

National Underwear Day use to be held on the 11th of August, but now you see it mostly on the 7th of the same month. Why they changed the date, I do not know. This is how the National Underwear Day goes down. They set up a cat walk for the models to show their stuff on. Then usually 25 female models and 25 male models take turns walking down the cat walk. This way they can show off all their new types of bras, thongs, panties, and boxer shorts. Companies like Calvin Klein love this holiday, because it gives them a great chance to show off their latest underwear sets. It also seems worth it to note that National Underwear Day is a very “colorful” event. Usually the womens underwear really shows off some hot bright neon colors. This is because when you see womens underwear it is suppose to grab your attention. Nothing does that quite like a neon color. This is because it stick outs against the rest of their clothes. Most women thongs are made to rise up over the pants and they need a color that will really stand out. Seeing a small bit of a bright color to a man, usually means that you are seeing something that you are not suppose to. Even through these pieces of underwear are meant to be seen, most guys still feel like they are seeing something they should not, and that is what turns them on.

This is a holiday that you will not soon forget. National Underwear day is slowly becoming a crowed favorite. It is really hard to forget a bunch of models strolling down the street in their new designer underwear. This is something that people come back and watch every year. That being said, it gains more support every year. With people coming back every year and new people showing up every year, we are starting to see some pretty crowded streets. Whoever knew that models in their underwear would draw such a crowd. Well I did, and I think that is why it does not happen everyday. Think about it, if models walked the streets in their underwear everyday, work would never get done. There would be car crashes all the time. So it may be a good idea that this only happens once a year.
