My Favorite Disney Movie, The Little Mermaid

I am your typical guy, and I do not like to say that I like very many cartoons, but one that I do enjoy is The Little Mermaid. This is a Disney movie that was directed by John Muster in 1989. The Little Mermaid was such a big hit that there have been many different movies made about it, and it was also turned into a stage play. The songs that are in the movie are some of the best songs in a cartoon to this day. Of course, Disney has always been known for having great songs in their movies, and The Little Mermaid was not different.

Back in 1989 if you wanted to see the best animated cartoon that you have ever seen then you had to go see Walt Disney Pictures The Little Mermaid. This was only the twenty eighth cartoon in the animated features of Walt Disney Pictures. However, you could not tell that when watching the movie. It has some of the best colors and best sounds that I have ever heard in a cartoon before. I mean, I hate to say it but the Little Mermaid was hot for being a cartoon. I mean, if I can say that then you know that the movie had to be pretty good, and it was. In fact, it grossed 111 million dollars in the United States alone. However, it grossed another 99 million dollars worldwide. That is a lot of money for one cartoon to make. I mean, that means that it made just a little over 210 million dollars worldwide. Now that is a lot of cash. No wonder Disney can open a new theme park everyday. The Little Mermaid is actually the cartoon that gave life back into cartoon movies. During the 80's cartoon movies were not doing very well. A lot of people had given up on them and guessed that people were moving away from them. However, Disney thought otherwise, and they released The Little Mermaid. After seeing how great it did a lot of people went out and started making cartoons again. The show did so good that they chose to make a screenplay of it as well. In fact, in 2007 it started being shown on Broadway. Now that is saying a lot. After all, it was made a long time ago to be just now make into a play. Of course, some additional songs have been added to the play by Alan Menken, and there was a new lyricist named Glenn Slater. It may never be as good or as grand as it was when it first came out, but we will never forget about The Little Mermaid as long as we live. In fact, many of us grew up watching it on VHS.

There are many things that made The Little Mermaid a great movie. The thing that made it so great for me was the fact that it had some great music. A lot of this music I can still remember today. It is hard to remember a lot of older cartoon music, but when it has music like The Little Mermaid had it never leaves your head. With songs like Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl you are never going to forget these songs. In fact, Disney has released many CD's with music from their great cartoon movie on it. I think this is something that is going to be great to get for your kid. I mean, after they see the movie they are going to love watching these movies over and over. However, they are also going to want to sing the songs with you. Because you love the songs just as much as they do you can sing with them. This is a great way to bring your family close together. I am always looking for ways to bring my family close, and one of the best ways I have found is with The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid is like no other cartoon I have ever watched before. I am a guy that does not watch cartoons very often. However, whenever I hear some music or see a clip of The Little Mermaid I know what it is right away. Music is something I know a lot about. In fact, after I hear a song I never forget it. It does not matter if it is new music or older music. It also does not matter if its Disney music. I will never forget it, and I think that is a great thing. After all, great music like this should never be forgotten.
