Matthew McConaughey, The Ladies Man

One of the American actors that has been in a lot of movies, is the actor know as Matthew McConaughey. Although I am not a fan of Matthew McConaughey, you cannot forget the fact that he has been in a lot of great movies. Also, he is not an actor that is a favorite of many men, he is an actor that women love to watch. That is why he plays in a lot of chick flicks, and not too many hardcore action films. However, he does do a few action, or deep movies, from time to time.

Matthew McConaughey is one of those actors that got his big break with a big movie. Matthew McConaughey's big breakout role was in the hit movie called Dazed and Confused. One of the best one-liners in that movie was, “You know what I love about high school girls? I keep getting older and they stay the same age.” This was a very popular line, and many people still use it today. Of course, he has been in a few movies that were a little more hardcore, like A Time to Kill and the movie U-571. However, he is usually the lead role in romantic comedies, that most guys just call chick flicks. Although this does not score him any cool points with the men in America, it does score him some points with the ladies. In the end, I guess, that is all that matters after all. He was in a few chick flicks that turned out to be pretty big, including The Wedding Planner and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. However, those are a little bit older movies. He has been in a few movies that have come out more recently. In fact, he was in a romantic comedy in 2006, called Failure to Launch. In this movie, he plays a grown man that still lives with his parents, and he has had a failure to launch from his parents house. So, to get Matthew McConaughey out of the house, the parents hire a women to pretend to be his girlfriend to get him to move out. It is a pretty funny movie, and if you have never seen it, you have to give it a chance. After all, if I had to watch this movie, you have to as well. Of course, it turned out to be better than I thought. Of course, not everything in Matthew McConaughey life is all sunshine and lollipops.

Back in October of 1999, Matthew McConaughey was arrested in his home town of Austin, Texas. Of course, this was not for driving bad, or driving while drinking, like a lot of movie stars. No, Matthew McConaughey took this to the next level of being caught with the possession of marijuana, and then resisting arrest. The police went to a house that they had received many complaints about at 2:30 in the morning. When they got there, they found Matthew McConaughey sitting on the floor, playing the bongo drums, naked with his actor friend, Cole Hauser. Of course, like all great movie stars, the drug charges were soon dropped, and he was just guilty of violating the city's noise law, and he was fined 50 dollars. Now, that is nothing to a big time star like Matthew McConaughey. It seems to me like a lot of big named starts tend to get out of things a lot easier than normal people. Is it fair that they get out of it? Well, I guess that is not our call to make. However, what I can say, is that if you had enough money to get out of going to jail, you would use it too. Matthew McConaughey does have a lot of money, so it does not surprise me that he would get out of the big time charges.

Matthew McConaughey is, overall, a great guy, and does not do that many things wrong. However, he is stuck doing a lot of chick flick movies, and it is hard to say if he can ever get out of it. Usually when you play a role that you play very good, you never can play another role again. In fact, many actors spend a lot of their lives playing the same role over and over again. When an actor can break out of his shell and do a different kind of role, that is when they are a great actor. Matthew McConaughey may one day be able to do a different type of movie.
