Many Variations Of The Balloon Pop Game

Anything that offers the element of surprise is usually a pretty good party game and can get very popular. Pin the tail on the donkey not only offers the opportunity for the host to have pin holes littering his wall but it also offers the glorious chance for someone to take a pin to the eye. Let's not even discuss the dangers of the piñata. Balloon popping games have the same potential.
So you are having a party and, on top of the inherent danger that comes with a game like hitting the piñata, you also want a couple of other games with the element of surprise to them. Since blind man’s bluff down a flight of stairs sounds too painful let’s just have a balloon pop game. A balloon pop game is a the kind of a game where you have people pop a balloon and something wonderful, or something awful, can happen. I happen to have a suggestion for balloon pop game that can be both wonderful, and awful, at the same time. But it is also a balloon pop game that is a lot of fun.

For the best balloon pop game you are going to need a bunch of fairly sturdy water balloons, some water, some little prizes like candy or something, and some white or black paint. You will also need a large, but light, piece of and plywood or very strong cardboard. I suggest that you get the regular party balloons as they are much stronger than water balloons and can hold more water and prizes as well. What you do is take your balloons and fill some of them with prizes like candy and whatever else you can find that is lightweight, in good taste, and will fit in a balloon. Only put a small amount of the prize in, maybe half a handful, and then blow up the rest of the balloon with air. Now take some of the balloons, maybe one for every four or five that have prizes, and fill them with a half of cup of water. Too much water and they will be too heavy, not enough water and they won’t be effective. Then fill them out with air like the prize balloons. Get a non toxic paint and just dip the bottom of the balloons in the paint. Get a children’s arts and craft type paint. No house paint! You just want to cover up the shadow of whatever is in the balloon and add a little more color to the balloons. Let them dry for a few minutes. While they are drying, take the piece of plywood or cardboard and suspend it over the floor just enough so everyone can reach it but they have to get under it to do so. Please be careful, and smart, when doing this step. The best way I have seen this done is to get two 6 foot stepladders and use them as legs for the board. It works wonders and it is the perfect height. Then mount the balloons very carefully to the cardboard or plywood so that they hang down. If you are careful then you can use a staple gun to do this. There you have it. An instant balloon pop game and it is a ton of fun. There isn’t too much water that people are going to get drenched and there are more prizes than water. Anyone can play, all they have to do is get under the board, pick a balloon, pop it, and pray. Suggest that if they want to look up when they pop the balloon that they close their mouth. I honestly suggest you offer goggles to each player as a precaution. Just trust me.

Balloon pop games like the one I just outlined are incredibly fun and they are so much fun that they are popping up on the internet on games sites like Pogo. Internet games sites offer a lot of variations on the balloon pop game and all of them are just as much fun as the real thing. The only difference is that with the internet games you don’t have to worry about getting wet or having to wear goggles. Just trust me.
