After scanning the Staten Island personals to find a date, any reasonable single person wants to make the event itself memorable. "Dinner and a movie" is cliché and forgettable, and a night at the opera or a Broadway opening is magnificent but far too expensive for the average Staten Island single. Somewhere between those trite extremes lies inspiration for creative, unforgettable dates - and here are some suggestions to encourage Staten Island singles to think outside the box!
And of course, it does. Tourists come here from all around the world to honeymoon and make moon-eyes over things locals see every day. Sharing the twenty-five minutes of sights from the Staten Island ferry seems wonderfully romantic to tourists from out of town, and the free fare for pedestrians is an added bonus for singles on a budget, but the big grumbling boat loses some of its magic when it becomes an ordinary part of a weekday commute. So, what’s left? What is there to do for Staten Island singles seeking a creative, fun way to spend a few hours on romance?
Fortunately, answers to this question aren’t far away. For many starry-eyed Staten Island dreamers, nothing could be more romantic than a lighthouse. It’s not open yet, but keep your eyes open for the launch of the National Lighthouse Museum being built right next to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal on the St. George waterfront.
The Lighthouse Museum will be marvelous once it exists, but what about a date this weekend? Where is the perfect place to follow up on that brand-new Staten Island personals contact? For ease of conversation, nothing beats a stroll through an art museum. And, the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art on Lighthouse Hill offers an opportunity far beyond the ordinary. The Tibetan cultural exhibits are exceptional, and the museum even includes a replica of a Buddhist Temple.
If “date” and “Children’s Museum” don’t seem to fit neatly into the same sentence, think again, guys. Often, Staten Island singles today come with kids in the package, and there’s no better way to win a lady’s heart than to genuinely befriend her children. The Staten Island Children’s Museum (1000 Richmond Terrace) comes with a wallet-friendly $5 admission price, and offers lots of hands-on excitement for children and their adult chaperones alike.
Much of the same benefit can be found at the Staten Island Zoo. At $7 for adults and $4 for kids, it’s still quite affordable, and the wide paths and discussion-worthy exhibits make for happy hand-in-hand strolling and conversation. The upcoming Spooktacular offers a grand opportunity for the laughter and warm, fuzzy bonding that build great relationships.
If family-friendly is definitely not the reason some local singles were scouring the Staten Island personals in the first place, then a different atmosphere may be found at nightclubs such as Illusions (3995 Amboy Road) or Element (168 New Dorp Lane). There’s even the Latin Paradise Nightclub (2032 Richmond Terrace), looking over Kill Van Kull to New Jersey. But, one evening out at a trendy nightclub quickly blends into another, and stereotypical dating is not the best way to guarantee the kind of memories to make oneself stand out from the crowd—in Staten Island or anywhere else.
The basic idea is to look around, find the things that would be fun to do without a date, and then share them with a date. Break the mold and try something different. After all, memories are just waiting to be made!
