Making A Game Out Of Balloon Popping

Anything that you can use to conceal pieces of paper or small prizes in can be used as a party game for adults or children. The pop of a balloon always brings out a startled response from anyone and can add a little element of fun and excitement to any party or gathering. Balloon popping games can be done in many different ways but whatever way you do them be sure to use some good quality balloons!

Balloon popping games can come in all shapes and sizes and can be as simple as helping people pick a door prize to getting people totally drenched when they least expect it. Of course you should always make sure that if you plan on doing a balloon popping game that involves liquids that you let the participants know what is going on in case they are wearing something that cannot get wet. But once you have cleared that hurdle then you can have some serious fun using balloon popping games at your next party.

The most basic of balloon popping games involve raffle tickets and door prizes. What you do is you get a series of door prizes for your party and you take a roll of double raffle tickets. Double raffle tickets are the tickets that have the same number on two different tickets so you can give one to the ticket buyer and keep one for the drawing. In this case you would put one of the tickets in a balloon and the other ticket next to a prize. If a person pops a balloon with a ticket in it then they get to take the prize that corresponds to the ticket from the balloon. Make sure you use thick balloons so that the ticket cannot be seen in the balloon and so that the player cannot cheat and pick a balloon that has a ticket in it. Your other choice is to put a piece of paper in every balloon so that they all look like tickets while in reality some balloons have tickets and other balloon just have blank pieces of paper in them. Gag gifts are always fun and funny things written on the decoy pieces of paper are sure to get a laugh. It is great fun. Another way of doing this is to hang the balloons upside down and fill some with a little water and others get the tickets. If a person picks the wrong balloon they get a little wet and if you don’t go overboard with the water then you should be able to watch everyone have fun balloon popping.

Another version of the balloon popping games involve a children’s party and small children’s party favors. This works especially well at Halloween parties where you can put things such as small plastic spiders or things like that in the balloons. You can put gag gifts in there if you want but when kids get something at a party by balloon popping they usually do not consider it a gag gift so something that you may think is a funny joke may wind up being a neat toy to a child. Just make sure that the gifts are not dangerous for the children at your party and be wary of the ages of the children because that can also affect what types of gifts you give. You may also want to have a couple of larger gifts off to the side that the children can win by getting a particular toy in their balloon or even a piece of paper indicating that they have won one of the bigger prizes. If this is done correctly, with the safety of the children in mind, then the sound of balloons popping all over the party can bring a lot of laughter from the kids and make your party one of the hit parties of the year. You may also want to put stickers and other designs on the balloons just to make them more interesting to the kids and maybe even to help separate who gets what balloons for popping.
