Looking For A Nevada Waterpark?

Added: 07/19/2007

Nevada is a state known for many things. There is Las Vegas, of course, the casino capital of the world. There are the wide open deserts to explore and enjoy. And, if you are like many people, you might also be interested in a Nevada waterpark to escape the summer desert heat. There are many Nevada waterparks out there, which one is the right one for you and your family?

It gets hot in the deserts of Nevada. Sure, it’s a dry heat, but its hot none the less. And what is the best way to beat the heat on your Nevada vacation? Why a Nevada waterpark of course! These provide fun and exciting oases amidst the dry and hot desert that surrounds you.

One of the most popular Nevada waterpark destinations used to be Wet ‘n Wild, located right in Las Vegas, that grand old casino capital of the world. Unfortunately the park shut down its doors back in 2004. Loyal fans can hold out hope, though, because they have said they might consider moving to a new Las Vegas location. Whether or not this will ever happen is still up in the air, though. Since its closing it has left a gaping hole in the world of waterpark enjoyment for the city of Las Vegas, one that will hopefully soon be filled.

Currently there is another Nevada waterpark whose construction is underway right here in Las Vegas: the Las Vegas Wet Indoor Water Park Resort and Casino. When completed it is going to be the largest indoor water park in all of North America and the second largest indoor water park in the world. Including tube slides, body slights, a pneumatically powered water coaster in an immense 350,000 square feet of space, this is definitely going to be one place you won’t want to miss when it opens its doors in 2009 or 2010!

Think Las Vegas is the only place you’ll be able to go for indoor Nevada waterpark fun? Think again! The Grand Sierra Indoor Water Park Resort and Casino is also currently under construction in Reno, Nevada. Offering up plenty of great rides this one will be open before the grand old Las Vegas Wet Indoor Water Park Resort and Casino, with its doors opening sometimes in late 2008 or early 2009.

There is one Nevada waterpark that is already open for business and that’s the Wild Island Family Adventure Park located in Sparks, Nevada. In fact they have just opened up a brand new ride for 2007: Fire and Ice. Two entwined slides with two choices to choose from: Fire or Ice. Fire takes you through a brightly colored red and silver slide while Ice takes you through a cool and calming blue side. The choice is yours, choose your path wisely!

The Wild Island Family Adventure Park is a fun-filled treat enjoyable by people of all ages. Whatever your tastes in Nevada waterpark fun you’ll find something here to satiate you in this wonderful park. Besides all of the wild rides there are several pools, fun shopping venues, lots of great food and treats (including Dippin Dots, the ice cream of the future!)

And of course you can’t forget the Coconut Bowl, the Wild Island Family Adventure Park’s very own bowling alley. With 20 lanes available there’s always a space open for you and your family. There’s also billiards if you are ready for a fun and exciting game of pool; when you’re not swimming in the pool that is! Don’t forget about the Family Entertainment Center either, which boasts mini golf, Sprint Cars and Indy Cars for countless hours of family entertainment!

There is a way to beat the desert heat on your Nevada vacation, and that is with a grand old water park. Just head on down to Sparks, Nevada to experience the fun and excitement of the Wild Island Family Adventure Park. If you’re vacation isn’t for a while you’ll soon have two new water park resort and casinos to choose from as well, one in Vegas and one in Reno, the biggest little city in the world!
