Like racism in general, racism in Christianity is used to justify humankind's warped need to control and conquer. For instance, during the time of slavery in the United States many "Christians" justified their actions by believing that slaves were the descendents of Ham, who had been cursed (supposedly) by his father Noah. However, it was Canaan, Ham's son, who was cursed (Genesis 9:18, 25, 10:6) to be the servant of his brothers.
