As the natural diplomats, socialites, and party people of the zodiac, Libras will always have their plates full! Whether they're socializing with friends, shopping, partying, or meddling in the affairs of others it's certainly a wonder how they find time to squeeze in a little scale balancing in between. However, it is essential for a Libra to make time to find that much needed equilibrium.
Libra, sign number 7of the zodiac, is in fact the only sign of the 12 zodiacal signs that is represented by an inanimate object. If you’re familiar with Astrology then you may have read about Pisces which is represented by the fish, Scorpio which is represented by the Scorpion, and Cancer represented by the crab just to name a few. So how does one relate a person to an object such as the scales? Well that is not such an arduous task as the scales represent balance, justice, and on a deeper level Karma.
Libra’s are known for being notoriously diplomatic. So much so to the point of sacrificing their own happiness or material possessions in order to achieve peace. Their love of harmony, and people pleasing is not always the healthiest modus operandi for their spirit. Libras often create an emptiness for themselves in their attempts at bending over backwards for others, as they tip the scales too much in one direction creating imbalances. Ultimately, part of the life lessons of a Libra is to learn to maintain balance in this area as opposed to completely giving away their own power and will.
Justice is another one of the major themes of the scales which represent Libra. It has been said that those born under the Libra sign are the natural judges of the zodiac. In fact, Libras detest injustice and unfairness which often does make them the biggest fighters for a cause (John Lennon and Mahatma Gandhi were both Libras). Additionally, they are able to observe a situation with complete objectivity and weigh in on it as a judge would. They make great mediators because they are naturals at seeing both sides of a story. However, if their spiritual scales are not in balance then there exists the danger of a Libra whom is too judgmental, bias, prone to arguments, confrontational, and/or myopic.
In Hinduism and Buddhism Karma is described as the sum of a person's actions in this life as well as previous lives. On an evolutionary level it can be theorized that if one has (in a previous existence) lived in excess, had been habitually cruel and unjust to others, and other types of destructive behavior then they will come back this time to right their wrongs. Their existence as a Libra this time around will provide for them the opportunity to achieve the spiritual balance that is so in debt. In essence their Karma is to learn how to be fair, just, diplomatic, and cooperative. Any deviation from their life’s lesson may present for them challenges in cooperative and/or romantic relationships, or general problems relating with others.
As the natural diplomats, socialites, and party people of the zodiac, Libras will always have their plates full with friends, relationships, events, shopping (Libras love to look good), and mediating in the affairs of others. It’s a wonder how they ever even get the time to squeeze in a little scale balancing in between. The life of a Libra sign is no doubt a full and exciting one!
