Some people like numbers and can work with numbers quite easily and nicely. There are other people don’t like to work with numbers and there are some people who are afraid of numbers. Because the academic subject of mathematics deals with both simple and complex numbers many people who don’t like dealing with numbers don’t like the academic subject of mathematics. In fact, many people have a mathematics phobia. However, we all have to deal and we do deal with numbers almost every single day of our lives. We go grocery shopping and we have to pay for the groceries using cash, credit cards, or checks. Paying for products such as groceries does require us to use numbers. In short, there are many reasons why human beings have to use numbers in their everyday lives. Counting involves numbers and children must learn to count objects at a very early age. They need to know how to count; therefore, counting and numbers are essential to our leaning processes. We probably couldn’t function very well without knowing how to count numbers. Numbers are located on many things in society such as money, books, newspapers, and elevator buttons. There are even numbers involved when we play card games. In addition, playing cards are sometimes referred to as the number cards. Now, let’s take a closer look at both the number cards and other cards that play a part in our lives.

Generally, the term card can refer to any of the various small and flat objects that are typically created out of either heavy paper or plastic. There are many types of cards that have numbers on them such as business cards, playing cards, library cards, gift cards, credit cards, health cards, identification cards, and debt cards. A business card is a wallet size card that contains information for a person or a business. A library card is a card used to borrow books and other media from a library. In addition, a playing card is a card used for playing games. Plus, during holiday time, gift cards are very popular present. Let’s look at a bit of history concerning the number cards and playing cards.

A playing card is generally a hand sized piece of heavy paper or thin plastic. A complete set of cards is called a pack or deck of cards. A deck or pack of cards is used in order to play one of many card games such as Blackjack and Poker. In addition, the number cards and playing cards can and are often used for performing magic tricks, playing board games, and building a house of cards. Did you know that sometimes number cards and playing cards are used for advertising? In addition, for most card games are assembled into a deck, and their order is random because of shuffling them. Did you also know that playing cards emerged in the 9th century in the country of China? Did you also know that there is an Indian origin of playing cards that involves symbols such as rings, swords, cups, and batons? Plus, the four suits of playing cards which are spades, heats diamonds, and clubs used today around the world started in France about 1480. Moreover, there are number cards and Paris court cards that have names depending on the suit. The Queen of Diamonds is called Rachel, the Queen of Hearts is called Judith, and the King of Diamonds is called Julius Caesar, and the King of Clubs is called Alexander the Great.
