Kansas City Singles Struggle When It Comes To Dating

Like a lot of cities in the Midwest, Kansas City is one that often gets lost in the shuffle. Sure they have a great football team and lots of cultural activities, but you'd be surprised how many Kansas city singles there actually are. In fact, according to a recent U.S. Census, of the adult population in Kansas City, nearly 25 percent are single. So in theory anyway, single men and women shouldn't have anywhere nearly the struggle of some other locations when it comes to finding a suitable date.

I've never been to Kansas City. I've never been a big fan of their football team either. But that wouldn't stop me from trying to find a date. And let me put emphasis on the word "try". Because apparently, even with 25 percent of the adult population being single, the city ranks pretty low in what it actually has to offer kansas city singles.

A recent survey by one of America's leading Date-Research Organizations quantified the findings of 80 top cities in the United States. What they found was that the lower ranking cities -- in this case Kansas City ranked number 80 -- had a lack of things to offer its kansas city singles. For example, not a lot of coffee or cappuccino bars. And not much activity on-line when it comes to Kansas city personals. How can Kansas city singles expect to meet and cultivate a relationship if the avenues for such meetings aren't there? Now cappuccino bars might not seem like an important element when it comes to dating, but if you meet a potential companion where else do you go to get a cup of coffee and talk?

Certainly Kansas city singles aren't meeting at football games. That might not be a bad idea considering the number of people the Chiefs pull in each week. No, Kansas City suffers the same as a lot of other cities with low dating percentages. There are actually some pretty good indicators that reveal the plight of Kansas city singles. Consider this:

- The number of males and females in the 18-24 age group is
low. So right off the bat you have a problem.
- There are not a lot of lingerie shops in Kansas city.
- Not many rock concerts organized in the area
- Low number of night clubs and bars

Unfortunately what the city does have are lots of libraries, a few zoos and several parks. Those are good things for couples and children. There seem to be a lot of movie theatres also. But really, what has been accomplished if you meet a guy or gal and then your initial connection with them takes place for 2 hours in a dark theatre.

I don't mean to say that if these particular areas posted higher numbers that there would be a better dating scene for kansas city singles. What I am saying is it's evident that there just aren't a lot of hooks pulling in the single population. And as a result, you wont find a lot of kansas city personal ads on line. Although there are quite a few. Just not the type of kansas city personal ad that may get a person really excited.

I don't mean to imply that Kansas city should open up a chain of adult night clubs and strip bars. Well not a chain of them anyway. But activities or get-togethers that are structured for the Kansas city personal element would not be a bad thing. And that's too bad, because I'm sure that Kansas City is a happening-kind-of-place. But somewhere along the line, the things that were happening "happened" about 300 years ago.

The city needs to change its focus and talk a little less perhaps about the great historical events that shaped Kansas City and look at some of the other things that will get a great response from a Kansas city personal.
