Jennifer Love Hewitt was born February 21, 1979 in Waco, Texas. Jennifer Love Hewitt is her real name as Hewitt is obviously her father's last name. She was given the first name of Jennifer by her brother Todd who was 8 when his little sister was born and Todd Hewitt had a crush on a little girl named Jennifer so he suggested the name to his parents and that is where the first name Jennifer came from. Her middle name of Love was given to her by her mother as it was the nickname of her mother's best friend from college. As she grew up Jennifer Love Hewitt would also simply be referred to as Love by her friends and family. When she was only six months old Jennifer Love Hewitt's father abandoned the family and because of that her mother decided to raise the children in Harker Heights, Texas. Instantly Jennifer Love Hewitt took to performing as she performed for the first time ever at age 3 at a local livestock show. Two years later she started to take a variety of dance lessons including tap and jazz and she got so good that she was asked to join the Texas Show Team. Soon after joining the team Jennifer Love Hewitt found herself performing in Europe and the Soviet Union as the Texas Show Team was touring those areas when she was less than 9 years old.

It did not take long for talent scouts from all over to take notice of little Jennifer Love Hewitt's talents and cutesy good looks and many of them insisted that the family should move to Los Angeles to help Jennifer pursue her career in Hollywood. So at age 10 Jennifer and her mother moved to Los Angeles leaving Todd behind to finish high school. It did not take Jennifer Love Hewitt long to find work in commercials when she got to Hollywood and in 1989 she landed a role in the Disney television series Kids Incorporated. She was only 10 years old.

For a few years after that Jennifer Love Hewitt would appear in several more television series that did not do nearly as well as Kids Incorporated and she even found herself appearing in major motion pictures like Sister Act 2. But she tried her hand at several roles and all of the television series she worked on failed miserably until she got a role as Sarah Reeves in 1995 on the new series Party of Five. Party Of Five was a hit and the 16 year old Jennifer Love Hewitt was on her way to becoming a star. In 1997 she got her first role in a successful major motion picture when she appeared in I Know What You Did Last Summer. The movie was a huge hit and is often cited as the movie that rekindled the horror genre that had been dormant for years. It was so successful that the sequel in 1998, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, also became a hit and Jennifer Love Hewitt was on her way. Party Of Five was cancelled in 1999 and quickly followed by a spin off called Time Of Your Life that ran for 2 years with Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising her Sarah Reeves role. Since then she has appeared in good movies, bad movies, good television shows, and bad television shows but whatever she decides to do now it cannot be denied that Jennifer Love Hewitt has already had a career most actors would love to have and she isn't even 30 years old yet.
