There may be many times when you feel that finding fun games to play will come in handy. There are cold winter days when the family is tired of watching television, there are birthday parties when you are tired of having the same old games and are looking for something new and creative to play; the possibilities are endless of when a game can be played. You may want to play Shoe Shuffle, it will add some fun to any event or situation; it is fun for both children and adults who do not mind acting like a kid now and then.
As you may imagine, one element that is involved in this game is shoes. You do not have to concern yourself with actually finding any shoes; the shoes that will be used in the game are the shoes of the gaming participants. For that reason, this game is best played if you have a lot of people involved. To play Shoe Shuffle with just two or three people will make for a very fast game. Most find it best to involve as many people as possible, ten or more people are optimal to make the game fun and interesting.
To play Shoe Shuffle, some find it best to not announce in advance that Shoe Shuffle will be played. If you warn the players that they will be involved in this game, they may be tempted to wear certain shoes; and that may spoil some of the fun or it may make for an unfair advantage. So, if you have a group of people who enjoy playing fun and silly games, you may not want to announce that Shoe Shuffle will be part of the day’s events.
The other element that you will need for the game is blindfolds. The game can only be played properly if great blindfolds are used. To play Shoe Shuffle, all of the participants must be blindfolded. If a blindfold allows for anyone to see a thing, the game will not be able to be played as it is supposed to be. For this reason, it is wise to take some time ahead of time to look for long, solid and thick materials to use as blindfolds. Thick scarves may be used. Alternatively, if budget allows, you may think about checking out a store that sells materials and ordering the appropriate number of pieces. It is best to try on the blindfolds to see if they truly block out images and light. Make sure that they pieces of material are long enough to comfortably fit around the heads of the guests.
Once you have your blindfolds, you can announce that everyone will play Shoe Shuffle. Each person who will be playing will be blindfolded. Be sure to check that all blindfolds are secure and tell the group that they will be eliminated if a blindfold is taken off. You will want to play this game in a large room; because of the fact that your participants will not be able to see, it would be wise to look around the room first for any dangers. You would not want to play the game where there a person may injure themselves. Remove any sharp objects or any object that may cause harm if a person were to unknowingly touch it.
Once everyone is blindfolded and the room is safe, everyone must take off their shoes. The game can be played with everyone or alternatively you may designate a person to supervise the game and make sure that everyone is playing correctly. In either case, shoes will be taken off and everyone must then throw their shoes into the middle of the room. If you are supervising or if you have designated a supervisor, that person should shuffle the shoes up so that they are scattered and a pair is not resting together on the floor. Once that is done, the supervisor will yell, “Go!” and the game will begin. Everyone must look for their own shoes. This can be done by feel and it can be done by smell. If someone believes that they have found their pair of shoes, they must hold up the shoes and the supervisor will tell them if they are correct. If so, they must put on the shoes and they will be the winner.
