Interaction Social And Personal, Garland Delivers

Added: 01/29/2006

Garland, Texas is one of those suburban communities on the fringes of the growing Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and as such lies near the center of the economic and cultural hubs of North Texas. It is a small town with a touch that can only be described as personal. Garland has all the advantages of a homey community but in easy reach of the amenities and opportunities of its thriving urban neighbors.

As a suburb of Dallas, Texas and located in Dallas County, Garland is part of the ever-expanding Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the major cultural and economic center of North Texas. Garland itself has a population of more than two hundred thousand.

In looking at the demographic data on the city, personal Garland statistics show an ethnic mixture that is sixty-five percent Caucasian, twelve percent African-American, and twenty-six percent Hispanic. There are approximately ninety-eight males per one hundred females, a statistic on personal Garland dating prospects that seems to favor the men in the population.

On an average, household incomes in the city fall around fifty thousand dollars with men making thirty-six thousand and women thirty thousand. The average Garland resident is approximately thirty-two years of age. Many residents are commuters who actually work in Dallas and some even drive as far as Fort Worth. With the excellent roadways and public transportation offered by the DART light rail system, getting around in the Metroplex is no problem.

Garland singles like all the singles in the thriving Metroplex area of North Texas have all the attractions, advantages, and amenities of their larger neighbors Dallas and Forth Worth at their disposal. Both cities have major performance venues as well as a myriad of fine restaurants, theatres, nightclubs, and bars. Going out on the town isn't a problem for Garland singles; it's just narrowing down the choices that can be difficult.

But night life is not the only life that constitutes interaction of a nature that can be termed personal. Garland has venues for singles of all ages and tastes including those who eschew drinking and dancing as the only way to get to know someone. The city has a thirteen-court tennis center, four pavilions for group picnics, a marina, and some twenty miles of trails suitable for walking, running, or cycling.

The Spring Creek Forest preserve offers nature tours with personal Garland tour guides and sailing is a popular pastime on Lake Ray Hubbard. The city offers adult softball teams at the Carter Softball Complex as well as other team activities. In this community your interaction with other singles can have an edge both competitive and personal. Garland even has five recreation centers and four swimming pools.

There are some twenty-five restaurants in Garland proper covering a range of cuisines and dining styles. You can go casual or elegant in this upscale suburb and afterwards take a short drive to see a show at the Fort Worth Bass Performance Hall or at the Myerson in Dallas. Movie theatres abound as well as coffee houses, bookstores, and intimate clubs.

Like so many of its fellow suburban communities, life in Garland on the edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex offers the best of both worlds, the personal touches of a smaller more homey town with all the opportunities and amenities of a modern, urban environment. It's the perfect community for young urban professionals to meet and perhaps to start out their married lives.
