The member countries to East Asian Games, the multi-sport event are Guam (United States), Japan, Hong, Kong (China), DPR Korea, Macau (China), Chinese Taipei, People’s Republic of China. Kazakhstan is a former member of EAGA, however since it became a European Olympic Committee member; they do not take part in these Games anymore. This sporting event and competition is only open to East Asian region, although another sporting event takes place known as South East Asian Games for the countries located in South East Asia region.

The latest East Asian Games were held in 2005 which was hosted by Macau (China). This event was said to be the biggest sporting event held in Macau since 500 years. That is the reason why the people of Macau made a lot of effort to turn this day into special one. The audiences were lively, cheering and great which gave the athletes more spirit and courage to play their sport. Almost 2,000 athletes and 800 officials will converge on this port city to take part in the fourth edition of the games, to be held from October 29 to November 6. About 500,000 visitors -- mainly from mainland China -- flock to Macau to watch the biggest event.
