The Children's Place Clothing Retail Store
Of course, the first place people think of when buying clothes is a store. One of the children's clothing chain stores where you will get great value for your money is The Children’s Place clothing store. The Children’s Place children’s clothing is trendy, so you’ll find something for even your pickiest dresser. Plus, the prices are right. While the chain has stores in many malls across the United States and Canada, I am lucky to have one of their outlet stores close by, so that is where I shop. But even in the regular stores, they are always having sales, especially at the end of the season. Here’s a tip: Shop at the end of a season for the size your child will be the next time that season rolls around. That way, you get a bargain and next time the weather changes, you don’t have to run out to find children’s clothing that fits. You have it right at home. One item I was thrilled to find at The Children’s Place clothing outlet store was pajamas with zippers. When my son was a baby, he would just not sit still very long after his nightly bath in order for me to snap all the snaps on the other pajamas. Zippers are great, but I couldn’t find them anywhere. Well, I found them at The Children’s Place. For more information on The Children’s Place clothing, visit their Web site at www.childrensplace.com.
Garage Sales
You can find some brand-new, or next-to-new, children’s clothing at garage sales. Now, this shopping route is a lot more hit-or-miss than going to a retail store if you’re looking for something specific. But if you have the time on Saturday mornings, it’s a great way to stock up on children’s clothing your kids will grow into. The key to efficient garage sale shopping is to check out your newspaper’s classifieds in advance to know where the sales are and if they have any children’s clothing for sale. It’s such a hot item that most people list it in their ads to draw in customers. From there, choose the sales you want to hit, and map out a route. The early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the best children’s clothing, so don’t sleep in on the day of the sales. I’ve picked up perfectly good jeans and shorts for 25 and 50 cents each at garage sales. I prefer not to purchase used shoes or underwear items, but if you’re comfortable with that, I’m sure you can find that, too. Garage sales are a wonderful place to get great bargains on toys as well.
eBay
I’ve bought some really cute, hard-to-find children’s clothing on eBay, including a little blue fleece jacket with dog-ears on the hood. (I love it. When my son grows up, he will probably see the photos of himself wearing it as a baby and hate me for putting him in such a thing.) You can even buy children’s clothing by the lot on eBay and get some great deals. Mind you, most is used if it is for sale here, but it’s the same as shopping at a garage sale. Just be sure you aren’t paying too much when you calculate the shipping costs into the total. If not, and you like the item, happy bidding!
I hope these tips for finding inexpensive children’s clothing were helpful. Remember, your kids grow so fast, there’s no reason they need to have wardrobes that rival Paris Hilton’s.
