Many Glendale singles, especially those following-up on resolutions, began the New Year by launching a directed and intensive search, a search for a new dating partner. As part of that search, such singles frequently put money down on a Glendale personal ad. Because most of those ads were written during the appearance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, they often alluded to different aspects of a car's appeal.
For example, some of those Glendale personal ads sought a date that could be exhilarating. The authors of those ads had no doubt been impressed by the exhilaration achieved during a test drive in a fast-moving sports car. Any Glendale female who thrilled at weaving through traffic was apt to write that sort of ad.
Perhaps some Glendale female has unknowingly placed herself in a position to meet and marry the next Walter Cronkite. Although Cronkite knew nothing about Glendale personal ads, he did know a great deal about sports cars. He also loved sports cars. He bought his first sports car on a whim soon after World War II, causing the salesman at a New Jersey dealership to act fast and furiously.
Knowing Cronkite's love for sports cars, it becomes a challenge to imagine how he might have approached the task of writing a Glendale personal ad. Would he have sought a woman who tugged at his heart strings, or one who expanded his thinking? Which type of woman would have been his best companion in a sports car?
A Glendale female might want to consider that question as she initiated a study of the various Glendale personal ads. After all, if she could figure out what sort of ad Walter Cronkite might have composed, then she would have moved herself a step closer to finding a similar ad. The discovery of such an ad could lead her to a date with the world's next "Walter Cronkite."
Of course a female would also need to consider the ramifications of pursuing such an imagined date. Responding to a Glendale personal ad that simulated an ad written by Walter Cronkite could set a female up for marrying a man who liked to spend his money on sports cars. Such a man would probably not want to spend lots of money on his wife. A female might want to think twice before committing to the pursuit of such a relationship.
Any woman who has considered marrying a car-crazy gentleman could benefit from learning more about Walter Cronkite. She would learn much from a careful examination of some of his memoirs. Even though he knew nothing about Glendale personal ads, still he attracted the eyes of many women while at the race track. He accomplished that feat by unknowingly performing certain trick maneuvers, such as the act of riding on two wheels.
Women who make a habit of responding to personal ads should strive to understand that a search for a daring partner could easily lead to long hours of loneliness, loneliness caused by the partner's desire to steal time for all manner of daring pursuits. Who wants to be widowed by a bungee cord? It might be preferable to marry a man who just imagined himself as a "daring young man."
