If You Choose Open Relationship Can You Save Your Marriage?

While many frown on any type of relationship outside of traditionally accepted ones, those who choose open relationship options may actually be seeking a way to save their marriages. Sharing an evening with someone new and exciting, with limits and boundaries can actually stimulate the two partners back into the steamy parts of their relationships. Sound strange?

When two people have been married for a while, the romance can tend to leave a relationship. People who choose open relationship options can actually bring life back into their marriages. With the option to set their own rules, choose the people with whom they will spend time and other make or break decisions the satisfaction of using their imaginations while with their marriage partner is enhanced by spending some “alone time” with someone other than their spouse, someone still of the opposite sex but making time to explore different avenues and new adventures.

The excitement of seeing someone else when it is forbidden (except upon agreement of the two marriage partners) is so exciting and such a rush, when the two marriage partners come back together, the physical intimacy can soar! The rush of slinging clothes and groping your marriage partner with images still fresh in your mind of the feelings you’re about to experience can cause such strong emotions, the physical intimacy factor will be unmatched, and…in most cases, leave you hungry for the next encounter.

These playful ways of adding that special “spark” in your marriage only works when both parties are in agreement and both parties stick to the rules without fail. Any failure to comply with all of the rules all of the time can actually result in a dissolve of the marriage. Instead of rushing home to be with your marriage partner, parties who choose open relationship options can do irreparable damage to their marriages, ending in divorce. So why would any couple engage in such risky activities?

Some choose open relationship options in order to revive their failing marriage. The choice to do this is typically a “last ditch effort” at saving what is almost gone anyway. When two people choose open relationship options together and sit down to make the decisions, the idea is that the closeness they once experienced with each other will slowly return.

Whatever the case may be, those who choose open relationship options expose themselves to myriad of extenuating circumstances. It is wise to be fully aware of these and other possible circumstances so the proper decision for the individuals as well as the marriage are pursued.
