How To Visit Bachelor Party

Added: 09/28/2007

Bachelor parties are parties given to a prospective groom by the men that will stand with him at his pending wedding. This is the groom's last chance to celebrate the wonders of being a bachelor before he jumps into the murky waters of marital commitment. Getting to visit a bachelor party can be quite an experience as some of them can be quite the send off for the groom’s bachelor status.

There is a tradition that when a man decides to get married he is given what is called a bachelor party by the guys that will be in his wedding party with him and his other various friends as well. To visit bachelor party is like visiting a guy living what he perceives will be the last years of his life all in one night. To visit bachelor party is to take on the risk of potentially winding up in the custody of local law enforcement before the night is done. To visit bachelor party is the chance to take an entire week’s worth of pay and just give it to the guy that is getting married. To visit bachelor party is to watch a guy taste his last bit of what single guys call “freedom” before he goes off and ties the knot and becomes tagged property for the rest of his life. Some bachelor parties are quite tame and there is even a new crop of bachelor parties among older grooms, older meaning 30 years of age and older, that are not including the female stripper. But for the most part a true bachelor party consists of strippers, money, alcohol, food, music, and a good time to be had by all as long as the bride never finds out.

The bachelor party usually has its genesis with the best man of the wedding party and the best man will usually enlist the rest of the wedding party to help put the bachelor party together. A bachelor party is the last time that the groom will get to do anything without his bride’s approval so it is usually held at some time close to the wedding ceremony. Many brave souls schedule their bachelor party for the night before the wedding which can be an invitation for disaster. Usually the bachelor party takes place the week before and one of the more critical things that go into a bachelor party is keeping the groom in the dark about as much of the goings on as possible. If at all possible the groom should only know the date of the bachelor party and all other details, especially the location, need to be kept as a closely guarded secret. The obvious reason for the secrecy is so that the bride cannot crash the bachelor party. Nothing kills a celebration of a guy’s past more than the crashing of his future. So all details need to be kept secret and that way the groom can consistently deny knowing anything to the bride because she will ask on a regular basis.

The next thing to planning a top notch bachelor party is to find a frame of reference and plan from that. Find someone that has been to a great bachelor party and use the ideas from that party and maybe even add to or change them a little. Remember that the groom has no say in what happens at this bachelor party so don’t ask for, or take, any suggestions from the groom. Also remember that the reason for a bachelor party is to load up the groom with money, alcohol, and pre-wedding guilt so do not fail in those areas. There are a lot of games that can be played to raise money for the groom and the most popular is selling raffle tickets to win prizes. Most times a table full of prizes will be laid out, prizes bought by all of the guys in the wedding party or donated by some other generous people, and the bachelor party guests will buy tickets to win the prizes. Regardless of how you do the raffle always remember to try and keep the ticket buying going as long as you can because more alcohol always means more tickets bought which means more money for the groom.
