The trick is how to meet someone online. There are many different web sites you can log onto that will help you in meeting people. You can use a search engine such as, “google.com” or “askjeeves.com” and type in key words such as, “internet friends” or “chat rooms.” Choose a website from their suggestions and begin making new friends! Some sites that I recommend are Yahoo, Msn, Tagged, and Myspace. It is simple to join and you do need to create your own profile to fully enjoy what the site has to offer.
Let’s say you want to join a site and start making friends. You first log onto the site(for this example, I will use www.tagged.com) and click on where it says, “join free.” You will then be asked a series of questions that will lead you in creating a profile. The profile tells about your likes, dislikes, what type of person you are and the type of person you would like to meet. You would then create a screen name that people can see when you are in a chat room. Once completed, you will have your choice of chat rooms to enter and begin talking to people. There are so many web sites to choose from that you will be making friends in no time! In making internet friends, I have some suggestions and tips to make sure you find the right friend for you.
When you create your profile, make sure you are honest about yourself and what type of person you would like to meet. If you just put information down that you think people want to hear, the friendship will ultimately fail. Most sites ask you to upload a picture of yourself, that way you can actually “see” who you are talking to. Please keep in mind that some people are not completely honest with the pictures they put on their profile. One reason for this is he or she is not comfortable with their looks and wants you to like them for what type of person she/he is. Once the friendship is formed, the hope is you will understand the deception and still want to be friends. To avoid this, see if the person has a “web cam” to show for you. This will enable you to actually see whom you are talking with. Not everyone has one, but it is becoming more of a trend to talk with one. Keep these suggestions in mind as you look to make as many internet friends as you want to.
As people go back and forth to work each day, it seems as if there is not enough time in the day to meet new people. There is nothing wrong with going out to a night club or the bar to let loose and have fun.
