Holidays are a time of celebration with friends and family. There are many different types of holidays. Holidays are culturally significant, religiously significant, or historically significant. Thanksgiving is historically significant and Christmas is religiously significant. There is a holiday for everyone.

The celebration that honors African Americans is Kwanzaa. It is celebrated from December 26 though January 1st each year. There are seven days to celebrate Kwanzaa and people really have a good time honoring their race and learning about the history of their people. That is Kwanzaa and many people recognize it. It is a time to celebrate Kwanzaa right after Christmas so that they can all honor the fact that they are African Americans.
