If you live in the state of Alaska, then you have more than likely heard about the Alaska Day celebration. This is a day to celebrate the anniversary of Alaska being added to the United States. This happened back in October 18, 1867 at a flag raising ceremony at Fort Sitka. This is a legal holiday in Alaska that is celebrated state wide. So if you have never had a chance to be a part of the Alaska Day celebration, then you do not know what your missing. Next October 18th, you should go up there and see what it is all about.
