This is a holiday that is celebrated on the 14th day of the month called Nissan, which is a month on the Hebrew calendar. The month Nissan is the first month of the Jewish year and it precedes the Festival of Unleavened Bread. When you are talking about Pesach you are commemorating the Exodus and the freedom of the Israelites from ancient Egypt. As talked about in the book of Exodus, Pesach marks the birth of the Children of Israel who became the Jewish nation.
