It used to be that the only ball of lights that fell on New Year’s Eve was located in New York City and the rest of the world was content to watch Dick Clark count down the New Year with that ball of light falling to the base of its tower. My little hometown had a ball of light hanging from a 30 foot tall crane last year and that was when I knew things were out of control.
