Lupus is a chronic and auto-immune disease. It is very debilitating in a child. Lupus can affect any part of the body. The most common targets are the liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, joints, and skin. This disease can start showing symptoms at any age and is more common in females. Lupus usually refers to SLE or Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Other types of Lupus include Lupus Nephritis, Discoid Lupus Erythematosus, and Neonatal Lupus.
