Public education and fundraising has also helped spread the word about early detection and better treatment options. Cancer now does not mean an automatic death sentence or a painful lengthy treatment as methods to treat cancer have improved.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, how people need to understand the vital importance of raising cancer awareness all year round. Cancer affects all of us, in one way or another. There is power in numbers and as more people join together to fight against breast cancer, the higher our chances are of lowering death rates by teaching awareness and of finding a cure for this disease that takes away so many of our loved ones.
