Good Children Party Ideas

Added: 11/29/2007

Kids love a party and the one things kid love at a party is plenty of stuff to do and games to play. Some of the games we played when we were all younger are still popular and some kids don't seem to mind discovering. However there are certain kinds of games you want to avoid at a children's party as they can sometimes be disruptive and even cause your party to come apart.

A children's party are a lot of fun for the kids and a lot of work for parents but in the end the children's party is worth all of that effort just to see them run around having fun and see the smiles on their faces. Some of the games that are children party clichés by now are actually still popular with kids while others seem to have either lost their luster or run the risk of getting you sued if someone gets hurt. So what you need is a guide to let you know which children party games are still okay, which ones are probably trouble, and which types of children's activities that are going on today make for some lousy children party games. Some of this stuff is common sense while others may not seem so obvious but when you put them into practice they make perfect sense.

One of the worst children party games you can try is to use video games at a children's party. It doesn't matter if you are using the latest educational games or what kind of games you are using there is always one kid at every party who thinks they are the expert at video games and insists that they must be playing the game or else all is lost. Most video game systems can only accommodate at the most 4 players at a time and chances are you will wind up with more than 4 kids that want to play video games if you put them out. So save yourself the headache and put the XBOX away for the children's party.

If the kids are old enough you can take them to a laser tag facility and that is always a fun and relatively inexpensive party. Once again you should make sure the kids are old enough because very young children can easily get hurt at a laser tag game and you do not want that. Let all of the parents know what kind of party it is and make sure you get permission from each child's parent to participate. Children who's parents do not give permission cannot play and that is for their safety as well as yours. But if you can get enough kids together then a laser tag party is a lot of fun.

For the younger kids nothing beats the old Chuck E Cheese type pizza party at the local video game arcade / pizza place. Parents for decades have been trying to figure out how some pizza, a couple of video games, and singing robot bears can keep kids so entertained for so long but it works and it is a party the children will never forget. You will probably need to keep an eye on them though because they can get worked up and they can get running around which could result in injury. But if you keep a close eye on everyone you can watch them all have a great time.

Years ago having a kid's birthday party at the local McDonald's was not only cheap but kids loved it. Today there is not as much love for the big clown that sells burgers so if you are considering a children's party idea at the local McDonald's you may be better off having the party at home. It probably started when McDonald's stopped airing the McDonaldland commercials that had all of the characters in them and now the newer generations have no idea who Mayor McCheese is and that magic that used to surround McDonald's for kids is now gone because all of the cartoons are gone and have been for years.
