Going To Universiade Is A Great Sporting Event Added: 11/21/2007

Going to Universiades is like nothing that I have ever done before, and if you have never seen or heard of this event, then you do not know what you are missing. The Universiades is sometimes called The World Student Games, and it is made up of many different sporting events for students to take part in. The sporting events change depending on what time of the year it is. During the summer they hold the Summer Universiades, and during the winter they hold the Winter Universiades. When you go to Universiades you will see that it is organized by the International University Sports Federation, also called the FISU. Also, the International Olympic Committee (or the IOC) also has a hand in making this event possible. If you are thinking that you would like to be in the Universiades, then you have to be a full time student, and be between the ages of 17 to 28. If you do not meet these requirements, then you are not allowed to partake in the events. However, just going to Universiade is enough fun for anyone to have. In fact, if you enjoy watching the Olympics, then you are going to enjoy watching the Universiades because it is pretty much the same thing. The only thing that is different about it is the fact that students are the only ones that are allow to par take in the events. However, it still is a sight to see, and if you are into any type of sporting event like the Olympics, you are going to love it.

Each year before going to Universiade you have to find out where it is going to be located. Every year they have it in a different place. This is much like the real Olympics that we have come to know and love. In the year 2005, if you went to Universiade, then you had to travel to Bangkok, Thailand. However, this year in 2007, if you wanted to see the Summer Universiades you would have had to go to Izmir, Turkey. I think it is very cool that they put the event in different places all the time. It is a known fact that some people will not travel, and because of this they would never travel to go to Universiade. However, by moving it around like this, you give those people a chance to see it when it comes closer to them. The next time they hold the Summer Universiades it is going to be in beautiful Belgrade, Serbia. The Universiades is coming to Serbia in the Summer of 2009, and it is really going to be a sight to see. However, I will not get the chance to go see it that year. If you find yourself with the opportunity to go see it you should take it. This is a moment that you will never forget, and you are going to love every second of it. In fact, it would be a good trip for your whole family to take, for some alone time.

It is hard to get the whole family together to do anything, but going to Universiades might be just the thing you need to make it happen. You are going to have a good time there, and I know that your family is going to as well. People of all ages love to watch the Olympics, and that is why I think that people of all ages will love going to Universiades as well. Watching any type of great sporting event where people from all over to compete together in great sports games, is always fun to watch. I have never heard of a Universiades event that people did not enjoy going to, and just because you may have never heard of it does not mean that it is not good. Going to Universiades is something that I think that everyone in the world should give a try at least once. If you are lucky, maybe it will come to a city near you.
