As you may already know, Gene Kelly has been in a lot of great movies. His most well known movie was more than likely Singin' in the Rain. This was a great movie, and has dancing in this film was some of his best that he had ever done. Of course, I like to be different from everyone else, and this was not my favorite movie that Gene Kelly was in. In fact, my favorite movie that had him in it, he was dancing with a very well known mouse. How many of you know what movie I am talking about? Maybe if I tell you a little more about the dance you will know what I am talking about. In this part of the film he was doing a very memorable dance routine. In this dance routine he was dancing with a well known cat and mouse, named Tom and Jerry. Still don't know what movie I am talking about? This movie was the 1945 MGM film called Anchors Aweigh. He came up with his own dance to do with these two beloved animated cartoons. This was one of the first times you could see a human interacting with a cartoon on a movie. It looked very cool to see him and Jerry interacting on the screen together. At that point in time it was the best acting anyone had ever seen. This is because there was not anything there for him to dance with. He had to use all his acting skills. It was this movie that won him his only award that he would ever win, and it was for best actor.
The film really is like no other, and I think that you should go see it. Of course, any movie with Gene Kelly in it is very good. He has been in a lot of great movies, and I wish that he could have gone on to make many more movies. However, that is not going to happen, so we are just going to have to rewatch the films that he already made for us to see. I love a lot of his movies, and I am sure that you are going to as well when you see the movies he was in. I have never seen an actor that can do what he can do. Sure you can see some pretty cool stuff today with all the new things they have for actors to act with, but he did it back in the day when yo had to count on your own skills.
