Welcome to the slashdot world-a world full of technology, slashdot news, tips, discussions and more. Whether you have an IBM compatible system or run a Mac, slashdot is the place for the computer user. Even if you are a beginner, there are plenty of computer geeks online to help you with whatever you desire. Looking for information on the latest virus? Do you want to know more about the Linux system? Maybe you are looking for online copyright laws? You will find all the answers at slashdot.
The set up at slashdot is very easy to follow and maneuver your way around. A vertical bar contains a listing and links of/to the site pages. You can move from a Q&A section to help in a matter of minutes. Check out slashdot news for the current trends in technology and then bounce over to current discussion questions just as quickly. The possibilities are endless at slashdot.
Right now MP3 players are all the rage. However with their use also comes the question about downloading songs. I know it is an old topic, but it sure has not gone away. If you download from the computer to your MP3 player which is meant for downloaded songs, is it still illegal? What do others think about the subject? I still and will always feel that with all the money I've invested in record albums, CDs, cassette tapes, and DVDs, artists should give something back. How about a frequent buyer program? CDs don't come cheap so where is our reward for supporting these artists? That's my opinion. Enter into a heated discussion at slashdot news and share your input in a friendly, honest zone.
There is more, however. If you think slashdot and slashdot news are just for computer geeks, you are sadly mistaken. I just finished reading an article about a lawsuit that has been lodged against Toyota for their potential violation of a patent infringement regarding the Toyota Prius. This isn't computer related - it is all about technology. Technology is what slashdot is about and it's here! There are a lot of people that are interested in the technology world, and if you want to keep up to date with the technology world then slashdot is the website to keep up to date with all the breaking news.
You'll also find the latest opinions on politics and the world of technology. Anti-SPAM acts, gaming restrictions, and nuclear power-yes, it's here. Do you agree that teenagers who play violent games will use violence in real life? It never happened in my teen years. We played violent games (you're telling me that eating ghosts wasn't strange and violent in an odd sort of way). Did we all decide we needed to become ghost hunters and do away with any ghost we could find? No! That current debate is listed at slashdot. How about cookies? Not the type you eat, but the type that tracks where you go on your computer. Even cookies are all the rage in the slashdot topic boards.
If you are into technology, want to learn more about current technology related trends, computer usage, impending laws, you should do a search for slashdot or slashdot news and get informed. Stay informed and up-to-date with slashdot!
