As the sun sets on this place of fun and pleasure, warm, relaxed days give way to sizzling South Beach nights, where partying and mingling is the main activity. This 23-block area has over 150 clubs most of which do not close until 5:00 a.m. South Beach nights are ever changing as clubs come and go. Steadfast tourist destinations such as The Clevelander and "The Deuce" have remained true-to-form over the past decade. However, many clubs are constantly changing décor, names, and owners. So, popular clubs come and go. In fact, the average club is only open for a season or less.
If you want to plan your South Beach nights well in advance of your visit, AOL's city guide has some recommendations.
Mansion: The venue's wood and marble floors and airy space give it the feel of a mansion. Each week it displays all the signs of SoBe success: celebrities; mobs of angry people who are desperate to get in; and an occasional visit from the fire marshal.
Crobar: This true-blue dance club features minimalistic lounges, a superior sound system, and stellar DJs. Its VIP Lounge attracts many celebrities such as Vin Diesel, Lenny Kravitz, and Justin Timberlake.
Opium Garden: If you are looking to put a little Zen in your nightclub experience, then this is the place for you. This bi-level club blends eastern philosophy with mod club life. It features a garden and outdoor terrace, grand Buddha statues, Chinese lanterns, and lush plants.
Prive: This ultra-exclusive cocktail lounge caters primarily to the fashionably elite and multi-millionaires. The room is sexy, comfortable, and elegant. People visit the place to be seen; dancing is just an afterthought.
Club Deep: This is one of the hottest clubs along SoBe's Washington Avenue. The club's premiere feature, the 2,000-gallon aquarium floor, provides a unique dance experience.
As mentioned earlier there are over 150 clubs that partygoers can choose from when planning their South Beach nights out. Unfortunately for non-locals who do not have connections or do not plan their evenings in advance, gaining access to some of these night clubs can be difficult; not to mention that nightclub entry fees can range from $20 - $60.
But, if you are visiting South Beach and you like to party, maneuvering these obstacles can make taking part in South Beach nights well worth it.
